Mission Statement

Founded in 1979, Tri-Copc began as a grassroots organization to resist the creation and expansion of the Dafter Township landfill. Currently we are battling to stop the importation of garbage and trash from outside the Tri-County area.  We are also fighting against pollution of the St Mary's River.  Our goal is to protect and promote the environmental purity and beauty of the Michigan Eastern Upper Peninsula region.

Tri-copc is involved in a number of ongoing activities which we feel have had a positive impact on our goal of preserving Michigan's clean environment.  Please see our History page to read more about our years of counterattack on those who would pollute our State for political or financial gains.  The news articles listed on the right document our more recent newsworthy events.
